Thank you for attending the first of our 6 modules!

During the session, we focused on functional fitness, specifically in relation to manual handling jobs, using Olympic lifting techniques and resistance bands. Functional fitness exercises are designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and overall body functionality. By incorporating these exercises into your routine, you can enhance your physical abilities and reduce the risk of injury while performing manual handling tasks.
Functional fitness exercises such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, and core strengthening movements help to strengthen the muscles used in manual handling jobs. The improved strength and flexibility acquired through functional fitness training can enable you to lift and move objects more efficiently and with better control, thus reducing the risk of strain or injury.

Lifting heavy things properly is of utmost importance for maintaining our physical health and preventing injuries. Whether it's at work or in our daily lives, improper lifting techniques can lead to strains, sprains, and even long-term damage to our muscles and joints. By lifting heavy objects with proper form, we distribute the weight evenly and engage the appropriate muscle groups, reducing the strain on our back and reducing the risk of injury. Additionally, lifting properly helps improve our overall strength and build resilience in our bodies, enabling us to handle heavier loads without compromising our well-being. By understanding and implementing proper lifting techniques, we can safeguard our health, enhance our physical capabilities, and ensure a more productive and injury-free lifestyle.

We hope that this session has provided you with valuable insights and practical tools to carry forward in both your personal and professional lives. Remember, investing in your health and wellbeing is not only beneficial for yourself, but it also contributes to a safer and more productive work environment.
