Is it possible to set up a highly effective gym at home with low cost equipment?

Absolutely….and you can create routines which benefit everyone in the family: Henry Cleminson; former UK martial arts champion and coach to other champions will explain in his  talk how to train and enjoy great fitness, at home, with minimal equipment.

You will learn:

  • training methods that will make you stronger

  • movements to give you a better range of motion and help ease stiffness/pain

  • movements to Improve your stability and balance and prevent future falls

  • training routines that are fun and can be enjoyed by the whole family

Henry is a former UK martial arts champion and is a coach to current UK champions. Using his sports science degree and close relationships with other elite sports coaches he has developed his own functional integrated training and high intensity interval training programmes. These transformative programmes are central to his CoreFit Academy and enable clients to substantially reduce training time and costs.

Jenni is one of our leading sports nutritionists and also a university lecturer in nutrition. The Pandemic has raised everyone’s awareness about the importance of building and maintaining a healthy immune system. Taking control over this valuable defence mechanism helps us feel safer as we return to the office. Come to this session if you want to learn more about the foods that you eat and the health of your immune system. You will learn:

  • which foods reduce the risk of illness

  • what supplements are effective and worth the money 

  • practical tips on how to easily incorporate these foods into your meals

  • how to save time and pack immunity foods into a drink!

Jennie Carter

Jennie is a qualified Performance Nutritionist who works within professional Football and Cricket with clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club and Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Previous clubs she has worked with include West Bromwich Albion FC, Aston Villa FC and Surrey Cricket.

She is also a University Lecturer on a Sport and Exercise Nutrition Program at Birmingham City University. She is SENr registered and has completed her degree and post-graduate in sports nutrition, she is also currently undertaking a PhD within Sports Nutrition.

Jennie is passionate about helping people optimise their health and well-being to enhance quality of life.

Sarah is a world class physio and has been helping people throughout the pandemic with some of the new pitfalls of our working from home sedentary lifestyle. The return to work in the office may still include periods of working from home with the risks which accompany too much sitting. Come to this session if you’re interested in:

  1. having less back ache and feeling stronger

  2. optimising spinal health and improving your posture

  3. learning how to move your spine better

  4. preventing unnecessary injuries and harmful changes

Sarah Connors

Sarah has been a chartered physiotherapist for 30 years, spending 25 of these working for or alongside UK athletics, treating athletes from all disciplines. This has included 2 Olympic Games. Her clients consider her to be a world class physio! Sarah now primarily treats athletes and runners of all abilities, setting up a local running club which now has over 250 members. Sarah just loves getting people moving! She has also worked for Asics for 10 years as part of their pro team, guest lectured at Birmingham university and written a book on running injuries called Running Well.

The importance of flexibility and functional fitness to look good, feel food and slow down the ageing process: all possible from home, the office or the gym. In this session you will learn movements that:

- help to relieve muscle and joint stiffness caused by desk work

- alleviate back and hip pain

- improve posture issues related to working from home

- aid recovery from exercise

 
Aidan Syers

Aidan Syers

Aidan Syers is a 3x English Schools Gold Medalist and 3x Welsh Indoor champion in the 60metres. He has competed for Great Britain Under 19's and Under 20's and been part of the Great Britain Senior 4x100 relay squad. Aidan competed for England at the Gugl Indoor 2014 games in Austria finishing in 2nd place, in the 4x100metre relay team that won the 2014 Loughborough International and again in 2015 and in the same year won the Bratislava International in Slovakia.

In 2016 and 2017 Aidan was amongst the athletes selected for The England Team and he continues to compete at the highest level across the European Athletics Circuit.

As a Sports Performance Coach and Sports Scientist Aidan's work includes coaching Elite Sportspeople for Speed and Conditioning. Lecturing on Sprints Coaching for England Athletics and as a speed consultant. He spent four seasons as a Sports Scientist for Crystal Palace FC and currently works as Head of Sports Science at Unique Football Academy, based in London.
